If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the second time my wife and I experienced very unprofessional behavior at this restaurant. I let my personal bad experience from last year slide, but this year the disrespect and unprofessional conduct extended to my wife and daughter. My wife had preordered tamales on Wednesday (12/20/23) as part of our Christmas dinner and was told our order would be ready at 1600 today 12/24/23. My wife went to the counter to pick our order up and was told they didn’t have our order and that the restaurant was now closed for the day. As my wife was trying to tell the staff that we had preordered that previous Wednesday, she was responded to in a very rude and snarky way that they had ran out of tamales and that the restaurant was in the process of closing. The employee then proceeded to sit on the counter and ignore my wife (and rolled her eyes) while another staff member echoed the same sentiment. This is disgraceful. People work hard and some sacrifice a lot to make this time of year a little extra special by wanting to put delicious food on the table. I refuse to support an establishment that doesn’t respect their customers and then has the nerve make them feel unwanted rather then at least bring a little light to a situation. Again, today was the last time myself or my family will step foot in this restaurant as I’m sure similar local businesses will welcome you with open arms.
I only give it 2 stars because I do have to admit they’re bread is good. Other than that, last time we visited the floor was truly disgusting. I went over to the restaurant side and it was even worse. I could not take a picture for the privacy of those eating in, but come on, at least keep it clean. The service is really terrible and it is not the first time that happens. Not sure if the ladies are being held hostage or what it is, they treat you like you’re asking them for a favor. At the bakery, there were two girls ordering bread and they lady with orange hair even rolled her eyes at them. The lady with black hair was even worse. I would feel embarrassed to bring a friend over to eat with all that, which is a shame because it is one of the only Guatemalan restaurants in the area, but it looks more like a restaurant at a bus terminal in Guatemala.
Great Guatemala food! recommend the garnachas and the churrasco. Our server was polite. They do include the tip on to the bill so check the bill beforehand. other than that small detail I enjoy coming to this place when I’m craving Guatemalan cuisine.
food is good, but service is TERRIBLE. bad customer service ! i’m not one to write reviews but when we’re being disrespected that’s not right.
Bad quality food. No flavor. Dirty. The waitress was nice.
I bought Atol de Elote but it tasted like regular milk. very disappointed ☹️
I keep trying to give this place another chance, but every time I go there I have the worst experience the food is disgusting. Every time I go there I end up with worst stomach ache of my life. Last time I got tres leches cake it was completely soggy. There was barely any breading in it was mostly milk ,it looked like I was having cereal. You’re better off going across the street to El mirador!! Where you’ll actually get some good service and some better food
Never had a bad experience, ate here for ten years
I'm really excited about this place. I ❤️ this food, and the bread is just fantastic, and the rest of the experience was really great
I always purchase my cakes from this place. I purchased a tres leches cake that I PAID $50 for!!!!! it was so dry! It tasted like a vanilla cake baked straight from the box!!! After I spoke to the manager he says, I can give you a 25% …
